Lucky me, I was so thirsty for orange juice this morning, craving the taste, but instead of reaching for a container, I grabbed a couple plastic bags and went to my neighbor’s place. I picked fresh oranges and a couple lemons right off the trees. Then I came home and took out the juicer. Just slicing the oranges in half filled the whole house with the aroma of fresh citrus. You just want to breathe it all in. Then the liquid gold drips little by little through the little slats and finally there’s enough for a glass. UMM! It is like drinking pure sugar, so sweet, you have to cherish each drop.
I took my glass and my Triskets in front of the television and turned on Bloomberg TV. The Dow has started at 119 points down, under 12,000, but it is moving up again. The jobs lost is the worst since 2003. They say people have given up looking. Someone should be kind enough to tell our President, Bubble boy, he still does not have a clue. Neither he nor his father ever had to worry about the state of the economy, neither probably ever stepped into a grocery store, remember when they asked old man Bush what a loaf of bread cost and he was clueless. Their measure to a strong economy is whether their friends and the Carlyle Group are benefitting. Our future presidents should be made to spend a half an hour each month going to a grocery store! They also should have to gas up the White House limo once a month too. We need candidates who grew up struggling, who know what it was like to do without, someone like John Edwards. The Bush clan only remind us how nepotism rewards the rich and their close friends, and their elitist attitude fails to ever put a word like recession to use. Look at Bush laughing off the comment about $4.00 a gallon gas. (“I never heard that! Bush emphatically replied,)  as the price is supposed to go up 15cents soon while Bush’s friends the Saudis choke off the supply and the oily oil companies make even larger profits.
All we can do is wait out nine more months of this dickless dictator, this Bubble boy who has mush for brains. In nine months we can kiss this stupidity in the Oval office goodbye and at this point, anyone is better than the idiots we have running the show now, by the way, where is Dick?
Nine months seems like forever, and in politics it is forever, so get out this spring, plant a garden, do something productive that makes you a little less dependent on this government of ours. I am lucky to live in a place like Florida, my garden is starting to bloom with red leaf, romaine and argula lettuce. I have green beans and squash coming through and peppers too. Soon I will add broccoli. Now if I could make my own ethanol…
