What a spectacular post! I did a kind of blogging for dummies over on one of the CPA Marketing forums and I believed it was too easy for them, but the amount of emails I got asking questions just like what you addressed was incredible. As young people today we have grown up with computers, but it’s easy to forget that even individuals just a few years older have not! Really good post!

This is almost too painful to read. Mexico is now creating more local addiction because our feeble border efforts have managed to cut down some of their exports. They don’t care where they get customers. Where is Agent Orange when we need it?

If the child was so afraid of his father that he threw up on TV set, could he not have been so afraid that he could keep quiet for hours? If he truly has ADD, perhaps he has medications, or was given a sleep aid. I didn’t see him in the homemade video of take off. Could he have already been in the attic? In a family this dysfunctional “truth” is whatever the leader (father) says it is and I think they come to believe in his vision. It’s an extreme Stockholm syndrome. I’m sure it will all come out in the end. If it is a trial, watch for a reality show for sure, though the family won’t get paid.

We never learn the lessons of history from invaded countries who first confiscated guns. “We GOP” don’t have to wait for government invasion when criminals are the warm up act. But I’m cool with those who eschew having weapons in their house. I wish we had to post the homeowners position on the front door, or slider, or bedroom window—–

Well, while the immediate reaction might be expected, I think it is still in order to congratulate the President on this award.

In a very appropriate open letter to Obama, Michael Moore points out all of the above but ends by saying…
“There are those who say you’ve done nothing yet to deserve this award. As far as I’m concerned, the very fact that you’ve offered to walk into the minefield of hate and try to undo the irreparable damage the last president did is not only appreciated by me and millions of others, it is also an act of true bravery. That’s why you got the prize. The whole world is depending on the U.S. — and you — to literally save this planet. Let’s not let them down. ”

The Peace Prize is not a popularist Academy Award. The committee is very small and has used the award to encourage further action.

MLK got it long before his goals had been reached – and it certainly did focus others on his work. The prize given to Begin and Sadat was also meant to encourage FURTHER action on what they had begun.

So I will join Moore and others and celebrate Obama’s award.
